Recently, CSSC SETH has secured another significant bulk order—a project to provide the electric propulsion systems for 3+6 newly built Platform Supply Vessels (PSV). These vessels are funded by Hainan Xingshou Shipping Co., Ltd., designed by Tianjin Zhongying Marine Technology Co., Ltd., and constructed by Yuhuan HNA Shipbuilding & Repairing Co., Ltd. They are equipped with the S-DE DC-Link system independently developed by SETH. Once again, SETH is empowering the green transformation of offshore equipment with its reliable power systems.

The series of vessels have an overall length of 64.00 meters, a beam of 16.00 meters, a depth of 6.80 meters, and a design draft of 5.10 meters. They meet DP-2 requirements and are classed by China Classification Society (CCS). The system is configured with four 1,000kW generator sets, and these generator sets are integrated through centralized variable frequency drive, which could drive two 1,250kW permanent magnet main propulsion motors and two 500kW side thruster motors. Notably, all vessels in this series are designed with reserved battery interfaces and installation space for containerized power supply, providing convenience and potential for future green energy transition. Compared to other grid configurations, the DC-Link technology by SETH offers stronger compatibility with battery systems. It is foreseeable that after the vessels are equipped with batteries, they will deliver outstanding advantages such as peak shaving and load leveling, energy conservation, emission reduction, and enhanced environmental performance—aligning with the global trend toward greener offshore equipment.

From a period of industry downturn to the current concentrated surge in global orders for newly built Platform Supply Vessels (PSVs), CSSC SETH consistently advanced in step with the industry, establishing a core technological barrier in the offshore oil and gas sector through our key technical capabilities. To date, CSSC SETH secured orders for over 20 newly built PSVs, with total installed battery capacity exceeding 16,000 kilowatt-hours, solidifying our leading position in the offshore oil and gas segment.
